About

Teams will consist of 5 members who will run or walk legs between 4.5 and 6.5 miles. The relay will be run consecutively with the North Olympic Discovery Marathon.

Corporate Relay

The NODM Corporate Relay was added to the marathon venue in 2006. It was the idea of Scott Wick, Director of Marketing for Therapeutic Associates. Scott has a lot of energy and creativity and has used the corporate relay as a great team building tool in his own company. By creating a team, your company will increase its corporate exposure, build employee teamwork, enhance your team's personal health and fitness, and last but not least have fun.

The cost for this program is $500 for a team of 5 participants. Your registration includes one hundred dollars in your company name contributed to the NODM Kids Marathon Scholarship, a winners plaque for the winning corporate team and your logo/banner displayed at the Corporate Relay site at the finish of the NODM. Additional corporate recognition is available at the various sponsorship levels. Contact Larry at larry@nodm.com or call 360- 417-1301.

High School Relay

High School students across the state of Washington participate in the HS Relay as a training run, team bonding experience, or to show who's who in high school running.

The cost for this event is $200 for a team of 5 participants.

Start

Same as marathon runners - 9:00 am, Carrie Blake Park in Sequim. Be sure to look at the course page to find directions and parking information.  Runners are welcome to hang out in the indoor pavilion or roam the beautiful gardens at the park before the race start.

If your team is going to finish in greater than 5 1/2 hours, please use the 7:00 am start (details here).

Registration

Select your team - get your teammates/friends/co-workers together. Each member receives a high quality race shirt and finishers medal - and everything else that the marathon participant enjoys - aid station support, food at the finish, music... It is okay to change/switch team members provided they have a signed waiver to us before the race. Team Captains are responsible for making sure that any new member to their original team completes a waiver and that it is signed by a parent if the athlete is under 18 years of age. Plan ahead on this so that you are not chasing down parents for signatures, etc. at the last minute.

Packet pick-up

Be sure to show up at the Red Lion Hotel on Saturday to pick up your packet. Included is your team shirts, bibs, timing chip and goodies. Packet pick-up details can be found on the race weekend page.

Aid Stations

Enthusiastically staffed aid stations (each with fun and original themes) will be provided at approximately every 2 miles along the course. There will be water and energy drink at each aid station. Additionally, fruit, energy gels, and runner comforts (i.e. band aids, vaseline, etc.) will be available at select aid stations. Port-a-potties are at each race start and at every 2 - 5 miles along the course.

Exchanges

Teams will consist of 5 members who will run or walk legs between 4.5 and 6.5 miles. The relay will be run at the same time as the North Olympic Discovery Marathon. Each team will be responsible for transporting and picking-up runners at each exchange area. A map and driving directions can be found on the links below and will be included in race packets. Make sure drivers have printed map and directions to exchanges.

Bibs and timing chip

All team members must wear the assigned racing bib during the event. Only the last runner (#5) will wear the timing chip - this is important! Your team time will not be calculated unless the last runner crosses the finish line mat with a timing chip.

Awards

The relay team awards will be presented just after the marathon awards (please check race weekend page for time) at the City Pier Pavilion. All team members will receive their finisher's medal at this time. Results will be announced and a special award given to the 1st place team for each division.
