New for 2007!
Uncompromised food now further enhances the Race with no compromises! Live Bread Shoppe along with Sunny Farms will be providing the most amazing post race food any race has ever offered. Live Bread Shoppe will provide hand made muffins, breads and of course their famous Marathon Cookies. (see below) Along with these items we will be supplying organic peanut butter, jams, butter and a few other surprises. The fruits supplied by Sunny Farms are of the highest quality and we strive to provide local produce.
The post race drink selection will offer choices with no refined sugars or chemical additives.
We're runners too. We know how hard each of you works to achieve your goals. The improvement and the importance we are placing on the food you are offered respects the goals we are all trying to achieve.
Along these same lines we want to be responsible stewards of this great environment in which we live. So here's the next new for 2007!
It’s not easy being green
Our two year goal will be to be a zero environmental impact event. We are trying to incorporate biodegradable trash receptacles, extensive recycling even non petroleum based biodegradable cups on the run!
The NODM will be incurring increased costs to reach this goal. At the same time we would love not to increase our fees. If your organization would like to help us achieve this goal by sponsoring this component of our race please contact Larry at larry@nodm.com

What if the best cookie you have ever tasted is also the healthiest cookie you could ever eat! At the Live Bread Shoppe our products are NOT compromised. We are all about making it good for you as well as taste good. As an athlete, you want the best so you can perform your best. The Marathon Cookie offers so much more: Fresh Ground Red Winter Wheat Flour which means all the vitamins and minerals are still there for your body to use. All the essential fatty acids have not gone rancid and all the fiber is still present! The sweetener is not refined, bleached or stripped of nutrients. The minerals and vitamins are still present. Just to name one: chromium, which helps to control blood sugar levels. Additionally, extra virgin olive oil which means there are no transfats to interfere with your body’s healthy functions. Organic dried fruits, organic nuts also mixed in. Even the chocolate chips have no dairy, no wax and no refined sweeteners as well. All this to say, this cookie tastes good, offers great nutritional content, and helps to bring the needed healthy carbs to the athlete’s need for fuel.
This year (2007) we are also offering additional products from the Live Bread Shoppe that meet these same strict standards of nothing refined, nothing processed. We are bringing the best to the event so that every participant can be assured they are not getting any processed, refined items. No preservatives or additives (more items that mess up our body’s well being). No Compromises!
The Live Bread Shoppe is more than a bakery, we are all about helping people understand how they are made and what the best plan is to take care of their well-being.
